Thanks to our supporters
We want to thank The Nature Conservancy and Nags Head Woods Preserve staff Aaron McCall and Jennifer Gibreath for making the Eduation Pavillion at Nags Head Woods available. Contact TNC at 441-2525 if your nonprofit would like to use the pavilion for your meetings.
We want to recognize the businesses that are making these classes possible with their support:
- Vilage Realty " has contributed accommodations for our instructors at the First Colony Inn.".
- Penguin Isle and Kellys Restaurant have provide additional support for the program.

The Current Plan
OBX Learn will host 4 classes from the Duke University Nonprofit Management Certificate Program in the spring and fall semester starting in the fall of 2008. Classes will be held.
We will solicit financial support for the program. The financial support will provide scholarships to people who might not otherwise be able to take the classes . It may also be necessary to supplement the per diem paid to the Duke instructors to offset the travel and lodging costs involved in coming to Dare County.

Nonprofit organizations provide vital services that markedly contribute to the quality of our communities. Duke awards a Nonprofit Management Certificate to individuals who complete 50 hours –either in the classroom setting or online. There are no admission requirements for the Certificate, and no grades or exams. The Nonprofit Management Certificate is designed to specifically customize the courses you take, and directly address the issues that matter to you and to your organization. Instructors of Certificate courses are established practitioners from a variety of disciplines within the nonprofit arena.
